The Portobello Public Pencil Sharpening Project 2 comments

I'll bet that kids were dragging their pencils along that concrete, ostensibly to sharpen them, and this was the way to (attempt to) get them to stop.

What a dichotomy...like how the Pro-Tolerance crowd is *really* intolerant of any beliefs or speech they dislike.

On top of that, she was saying how great she was and was going to be the new "face of" Marvel, all because she got to play a superhero who was male in the comic books but the franchise decided they needed a sop for the woke mob. It would, apparently, be too much to expect them to create some female characters. Also, a little modesty would have been nice (although I would call that realism, not modesty, about her talent and role).

It's no longer $150. It's like $90 a year to subscribe to Office 360, which includes the two applications you want plus several you don't.

Taking photos for your followers (if any) and friends--About a 2 on the jerk scale.
Purposely screwing up other people's products (that they pay you for) out of the need to police that behavior: More like a 7.

There are a lot of people who want to restrict you from doing things they themselves do. Most of the ones who don't want you, a responsible adult without a criminal record, to be allowed to own firearms are in fact guarded by those with firearms. Politicians who want to pass a law with a higher minimum wage don't pay that higher wage to their interns, or even the CURRENT minimum wage.

A couple presidents ago, his first action as US Prez was to restrict the kinds of jobs the outgoing cabinet members (plus other White House appointees) could take, and then right before leaving office eight years later he repealed that edict, so it only ended up applying to the previous president's cabinet. Some politicians pushing a "net zero carbon" agenda own several mansions, but they offset that with carbon tax credits they purchase from companies. OK, if you really believed that the carbon emissions are ruining the planet, paying a little extra tax DOESN'T UNDO THAT DAMAGE.

Well, I've been to hundreds of services and masses, and while some of the denominations certainly believe that the Body of Christ is present in the bread and wine, I've never seen or even heard of an animal sacrifice.

One of the things they track is "Diversity." I wonder if diversity increases or decreases the likelihood of unionizing. That is, does a highly diverse workforce lean pro-union in some way, or is a more diverse group able to be fractionalized, with more "lines" that can be used to separate "us" from "them?" And of course, the lines can be changed to make it seem like "that gender" is being better served, or "that skin color" has an advantage this week, or people from that church/synagogue/mosque have an advantage, depending on the union-preventing theme at the time.

As long as people can choose to work in a factory or not, the choice should improve things overall. Having another possibility besides drug manufacture and prostitution, especially if there's more than one garment factory, gives an alternative despite people in the developed world thinking that the work is too hard for low money (based on *their* economy's standards).
