=Bad ground in setup, which gets fixed with metal box grounding thing that needs it
-Metal box shields sensitive circuit from spurious electromagnetic interference generated from RADAR circuit

We can't even get "everyone to just" do the rock bottom basics, like not steal from stores...shoot, we can't even get "everyone to just" agree that it's wrong to steal non-necessities and that it should result in arrest/prosecution.

My experience observing the generation older than I am and the generation younger is that "the grandkids" don't want 90% of those "treasures." Even a really nice, solid, beautiful cabinet like the one shown is too heavy and too big.

A roadside rest stop along a tollway I used to drive had stalls whose walls went from a foot above the floor to about four feet above the floor. IOW, you got to make eye contact with anyone sitting on a toilet. I heard it was because the state was worried about people doing drugs in the stalls, but that doesn't completely ring true.

The problems I see are not the one(s) that OP sees:
