Checking for fall damage was actually the first thing I did when playing Breath of the Wild. I continued and finished the game and after maybe 100 hours playtime I got the DLC. This adds a playback on the worldmap of all the places you've been, including marks and soundeffects where you died.
I went back to the beginning, watched myself walk around spawn a bit and walk in a straight line to my dead( off a cliff), and I was like: Yup, I remember exactly
