One of the time when DC is better than Marvel 18 comments

Knowing in-depth comic lore shouldn't be required to enjoy a movie, or understand a character. I found her relatively flat throughout the movie; she didn't seem to grow, or change, or even learn anything relevant about her character (personality/thoughts or beliefs, not her as an actual character). Look at any other superhero origin story like Tony Stark in Iron Man 1, or Steve Rogers in The First Avenger; the characters at the beginning are very different than the characters we see at the end. They grow, they face hardship, and the change and become better people because of it. Captain Marvel doesn't do that. In one (partially deleted) scene, she straight up terrorizes the motorcycle dude because he made an admittedly dumb and rude comment. That's not a hero to me, that is someone who looks and sounds far more like a villain than a protector.

I don't know why you're getting dislikes, everything you've said here is exactly true. Having actually seen captain marvel, it played like a feminist propaganda piece, it was really just cringey and, quite frankly, bad. It was the first time I have ever been disappointed by a marvel movie.

More restrictive laws would seem more unreasonable if 1) people weren't using abortion as birth control and 2) there weren't people arguing for 3rd and "4th term" abortion, which is actual infanticide. Problem 1 could easily be solved with better sex education and access to resources, but the second is absolutely immoral and disgusting to anyone with a fraction of a soul

What gets me is how she has no remorse for any of her actions! If you want to go back to your cushy life after joining a terrorist organization, maybe don't essentially say "well, sucks to be them, I didn't do it" when referencing victims of said terrorist organization

As children, it isn't so bad, since your immune system is still learning about new microbes in the environment and is less prone to overreact. Also, children can tolerate a higher fever much better than adults, something that measles and varicella (chicken pox) produce. Due to a higher risk for secondary infections and a lower fever tolerance, adults are at a higher risk for having serious complications!

Well, depending on the person and potential allergies, waiting for the sweet release of death is realistically applicable...

Hi there! I'm actually not part of the "Trumposphere", I just call bullshit where I see it. I think there is a huge problem with journalistic integrity in the media everywhere, especially since it seems that companies want controversial headlines and hit pieces instead of the truth. CNN just seems to be the worst at it lately. They literally blackmailed a man for posting a MEME of all things, and there is a legitimate case for slander with the Covington kids, especially since it has since been proven over and over by actual video evidence that they did nothing wrong. Fox has it's problems too, but CNN seems to suffer from Trump derangement syndrome the worst, and it shows.

Well, it's just about common knowledge that cnn has absolutely zero journalistic integrity, so this isn't surprising.

Really? Like who? The point is that just about everyone with half a brain can agree that fascism is bad, but there are more than a few who are not so economically inclined that think socialism and communism are good ideas.

I don't really care all that much about the trans argument, but I find it wild how Bruce (at the time) literally killed a woman and never got arrested or faced any real repercussions?

There is a difference. Genetic conditions are tricky by their very nature, and can be a toss up as to what is expressed because of the other partner. Some genetic conditions are masked, and a parent might be completely unaware they might be passing on something dangerous. What guest and yourself are defending is KNOWINGLY (emphasis on KNOWINGLY) passing on an incurable virus to people they had no intention of telling. A virus that has and continues to kill. Maybe not in the massive numbers it used to, but it is usually a factor in their death's. If someone KNOWINGLY gave me syphilis, or the fuckin plague, and didn't tell me, I would be fucking furious, and want someone like that put away, not getting a slap on the wrist and putting others at risk.

@guest_ please tell me you didn't just defend a law that lowers the penalty for KNOWINGLY transmitting a POTENTIALLY DEADLY VIRUS to others. Please. Because that is fucked up.
