We have no idea when Jesus was born. There are many theories that have credible evidence but none point to 25 December in the year 0. The date was chosen years later to fit in with the other winter holidays so that Christmas could be easily incorporated into other cultures. Most Christmas traditions are taken from other holidays as well: Santa, trees and Yule logs to name a few. Does this un-confuse?
