It could take longer, but we cant actually see it by the naked eye, which is what this picture is inferring. There are many stars that are really far away, but we cant see them. My first comment was referring to the naked eye.

Technically it takes anywhere from 4 to 7000 years for the light of a star to reach Earth.

Lets be honest here. No one can prove or disprove a religion because no one has any proof. Any of these books can be made up without anyone knowing (I am a Christian but this is the scientific side of me). None of the religions has a REAL way of knowing how their religion was right. Having that said, we wont know who or what religion is right until something happens that can prove and/ or disprove the religion. That is all I have to say.
