The idea of these comics is that the aliens state everything literally, to dissociate us from ordinary, everyday actions, and make them seem strange. Saying "my bloodpump is fractured" is just a more scientific way of saying your heart is broken, which is still a metaphor. I don't think it works as well.
This is just my opinion on this comic, I like the rest of his work
