Violet absolutely IS a wavelength of light. You're thinking of pink (or magenta) which is essentially anti-green on the color wheel. (Via minutephysics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9dqJRyk0YM )

I would argue that the center of the donut is actually easier to find than the others. The donut is the most regular and well defined shape out of these objects. Just because there's no mass AT the center of mass doesn't mean it's not there.

Try closing all apps and clearing the RAM before charging. If you're really desperate for it to charge as quickly as possible, then turn off GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi and such too.
