Mass extinction events seem to happen about every 100k years IIRC. Feel free to correct that figure, as I'm not so confident on my recall of the number.

That squirrel is set for life! He would have cached most of those nuts. Then again squirrels forget about 90% of their caches, so, set for a year-ish?

I think anodization is more likely than PVD or CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition). Although, I'll admit, I'm not familiar with how the colors are achieved during anodization. Cool! I get to read up and learn a new thing!
