I completely agree, vines are kinda pointless. I always just wait for compilations.

The liquid that pours itself - Polyethylene Oxide 4 comments
jimcrichton · 8 years ago
It only does that if the poly(ethylene oxide) is high enough molecular weight (long enough chains), and if the solution is concentrated enough. Lower molecular weight poly(ethylene oxide) will act like a perfectly normal liquid, as will a dilute solution of even high molecular weight material.

Add boric acid (a common roach poison) to some denatured ethanol (a common solvent from the hardware store) to make a solution that burns with green fire. [Borax also works but the flames have more orange in them.]

There is a difference between hardness and toughness. A hard (strong) object requires a lot of force to break it but it WILL break. A tough object deforms without breaking. An object can indeed be both hard and tough, but diamond is only hard. Also, diamonds (any crystal really) are easy to cut along their shear planes, which are defined by the lattice structure of the crystal. A diamond can also be ground down abrasively by materials softer than itself, this happens by knocking off high points sticking out from the surface of the diamond (which are weaker because they are sticking out). Furthermore, you can polish a diamond using fire, essentially burning off the surface of the diamond, which is just a form of carbon after all.

I wanna be the kind of dad that will have another nerf gun at the ready and when my kid does this, I shoot back.

I'm basically a giant kid that society somehow decided to trust with bigger toys.
