but Canada pays more in taxes and that's where the money comes from. I'm not saying either way is better just saying that's how it is. personally I think if people prefer the Canadian system they should just move to Canada rather than arguing and trying to change it in the US

I am seriously sick of people with absolutely no experience trying to tell me they know more about what I do than I do myself!

I never claimed to be an expert, but I work with marine mammals every day. how much experience do you have? Naomi Rose admitted under oath she has no experience in cetacean care. also, food denial doesn't happen. the fact is (and this is proven) is that animals can't be forced to do something they don't want to do. like, procreation. animals that are not safe and comfortable don't procreate. that's just a fact! Also, I didn't twist any words, I'm just saying blatantly that food denial is not used in any AZA accredited facility. again, just a fact. positive reinforcement is known to be the only effective method of animal training, and facilities accredited by IMATA only use these methods. as for the born in the wild thing, read "Killing Keiko". after he was released from pressure from uneducated people like you, he refused to join another pod in the wild, continued to try to make contact with humans, and was found giving children rides on his back before he died. seriously, read it.

that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying it's just not really as fun when people put VERY biased posts up. I come on this site to laugh and wind down after work, but seeing comedy that is VERY biased pisses me (and a bunch of people) and doesn't let us enjoy the site. honestly is it that hard to leave politics out of it? is it THAT hard?

darn auto correct! I am aware "site" is short for website. also...it's only funny to one half of the population. but posts that are not political are funny to everyone. also, it entices people to defend their opinions, and then there are arguments.

on that same note, are you saying Winter the dolphin shouldn't have been rescued? are you saying the 26,000 animals SeaWorld has rescued should have been left to die? and also, honest question, please give an answer, if you're against animals in human care, performing behaviors for praise, then do you think that no one should have a pet dog or cat?

I ALREADY SAID MARINE PARKS DON'T TAKE THEM FROM THE WILD. and where does it say they live longer in the wild. what websites are you following. the WALL ST. JOURNAL said they live longer in human care. and even when they don't do behaviors when asked, they still get food. food denial is illegal. they just use food as one of many ways to praise and encourage positive behavior, like you would a dog. and...unfortunately there are reports of them killing humans in the wild. sad, but true. SERIOUSLY DO YOUR RESEARCH FROM ACCREDITED PLACES NOT JUST PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET WHO CLAIM TO BE EXPERTS. I recommend the AZA, IMATA, and National Geographic

actually it happens in the wild due to GENETICS. and the fact that there is no cartilage or bone in the fin, just fibrous connective tissue.
Fat shaming & not ashamed 17 comments

I honeslty don't go around "shaming" people for being overweight, however, most of the "fat acceptance" movement is saying "it's okay to be fat as long as I love my body!" NO IT ISN'T. you're wasting taxpayer's dollars on healthcare, you're giving a bad example to children, and heck, there are a lot of overweight people on food stamps, wasting them on Doritos rather than lettuce and saying "it's fat acceptance".

um...they do those "tricks" (ehem, behaviors) in the wild. also...most marine parks (including SeaWorld) aren't allowed to collect and haven't in about...thirty or forty years. do your research. also, they live longer in human care. and the research done on animals in human care and oligarchical environments provides insight and research that can never be obtained in the wild so it helps wild animals in the end. I'm a marine mammal trainer at a marine park (not SeaWorld) and I hate it when people who have no experience in the field question my morals and call me a bad person.
