I'm a zookeeper. First this picture is out context that particular elephant was never alone. Second it's not possible for an animal raised by humans to go live in the wild. Many of them are in zoos for that reason. I worked with 3 dolphins who were deaf and a sea lion who was blind. I worked with two parrots who couldn't fly. How are they supposed to survive? Or are you saying they deserve to die?

I gotta hand it to Olympic curlers because unlike other athletes, their sport doesn't pay. Most of them have regular jobs (I think one is a middle school math teacher. One of the women works at a sporting goods store) because they don't have a lot of sponsors. But they still train and travel and compete in the same level as skiers and ice skaters.
