We usually split the hour between dayshift and nightshift so everybody works half an hour extra.

"Oh captain, my captain" is a quote from the movie Dead Poets Society. Robin Williams played in this movie. Many users of funsubstance liked him, a lot.
When he died we started to ask for advice/info by saying "captain?" Out off respect for him.
He won't be forgotten.
