The closest thing I have to a counterargument is that the heat qnd humidity will cause the zombies to decompose quicker, meaning that the rednecks wouldn't be entirely responsible for cancelling the apocalypse.

Well, it's not as though Aussies don't swear in English. We just tend to say cunt more often than most other English-speaking nations, and of course have some... unusual slang.

I'd first negotiate what cut of the money they'd want in return for being shot, starting around 40/60 their way, and figure out how the final balance changes if the wound is worse than intended.

And I was impressed enough with AI from being reminded recently that the alien gunships' AI in Half-Life 2 detected the rockets that you fire at them as being the biggest threat and hence trying to shoot them down. Without the programmers realising that they'd do that.

That's pretty good, but it's more often stuff like a character in the Monogatari series named Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade being given the name Shinobu after she loses most of her vampire powers and looks like an 8-year-old because the kanji for her name, 忍, has the character for 'heart' under the character for 'blade.' Or Kitsu Chiri from another show always telling people to do things properly, or 'kicchiri,' the little pause denoted by the first 'c' being given by a small 'tsu' character.
Or, you know, just puns like normal but in Japanese instead of English.

It's really punishing when I try to explain a glorious Japanese pun from an anime or something to friends that aren't also learning the language, especially if I'm trying to get them to watch the show that the pun is from.

Tali is the best and you can't convince me otherwise. Not even Vetra is better, and Vetra's pretty great (though I've only played the trial for Andromeda and can't quite buy the full game yet).
