First of all, calm down. It's the internet man, relax, you don't have to convince anyone of anything. ''How are children any different from adults?'' The difference is that the skills we have in adulthood (25+) we learn during our childhood (0-25). Children do not go to school for nothing, they learn and grow during that time. I invite you to read up on this subject. There is no shame in learning or young age, (I pressume you are young) and your opinions are just as valid as any adults', but scientifically speaking the brain grows until age 25. Therefore children need protection from that which they cannot make rational decisions about themselves. And that's all there is to it. No need to jump to conclusions.

My my, what an intelligently worded reply. I suppose I could keep try to make my point to you, even if it only keeps soaring right over your head. I do not mean to imply that children are too sensitive to cope with commericals, I am merely concerned with what it does to them psychologically. It influences their mind to think with an inclination toward consumerism, and I think this is morally wrong, because of their vunerable state.

Children are incapable of spending their own money in a sensible way; because they do not understand the urgency of spending money on nessacities rather than toys or candy. If a toy looks fun, kids are going to want it, inspite of how much it costs or how unfit it might be. Therefore they should not be exposed to commercials that can easily influence their desires; it is morally reprehensible. Children enjoy simple toys as much can enjoy expensive toys, and thus having to make comparisons should not be a reality.

You can create products for kids to use, and then market it towards adults, like it should be done. If children see a toy commercial, of course they're going to want it. It's a direct play on their simple way of life and it makes me sick.

I absolutely 100% approve. Companies that market their products towards kids are disgusting in my book.

I see. Jesus christ, 400 dollars is a lot of money. It's about €60 here. More or less the same what's going on in the US. We have this guy, Geert Wilders, horribly racist, makes us all look bad. But he's doing well in the polls so I'm not really liking where that is going. I'm 19, how old are you?

No, I'm in my second year now. Life is pretty good here in the Netherlands, but I really don't like the direction it's going with the current politics here. Is it a lot harder to travel out of the US? If I want, I can ride a train to the border and visit Belgium.

crazy. Most people only invest that much money in a house here. If you went to Scotland, you wouldn't even have to learn a new language. (Just learn to understand the dialect, which is a bit of a challenge haha) If your grades are decent I'm sure you could find a college to accept you. Small scale colleges are always happy to accept exchange students to promote their 'international ties', so to speak.

Yeah, and get this, in Germany and Scotland, college is actually free. No tuition fees, you just gotta pay for books. Hell, if it's that much you'd probably better off studying abroad.

What you decide to give attention is your own decision to make. Rather than frowing on popular music, wouldn't you rather celibrate the diversity of different music that we have acces to?

If you think there is no good music in today's time, you're clearly not searching at all.

Also whoever is dislking his/her comments stop being so immature. A different opinion does not always grant you the right to hate someone for it.

Can't say that I disagree on the public transport one. But I really think it can usher in techological change, if the government regulates it properly, and sets up a maximum price. Otherwise, companies are obviously going to abuse it.

That sounds great. I heard colleges in the US are very expensive, is this true?

I don't think it's privatization perse that's the problem, I think it has more to do with how a government handles it. If you give a company free reign, then of course they're going to try and make the most amount of money, and disregard morality. But if you properly regluate the market, it can really have a lot of benefits. Take public schools vs. private schools, as an example. If you disagree with some of the morals taught at a public school, or you want to build a school which puts the focus on a certain field of study, you can build your own school, granted it fits within certain regulations. It is good that we have this opportunity, because some of our interests are different from the norm. However, both private and public schools have score at least national average on standardized tests. This allows us to differ as we see fit, without over stepping boundaries or creating problems.

I see. So you get a scholarship while attending both college and ROTC then? In the Netherlands college used to be free, but with the economic trouble in 2012 they decided to revoke it, but you can take a loan with 0% interest

I also saw the 13th, and I think other people need to see it too, because it really opened my eyes on a lot of issues.
It's not ''twisted''. There are hundreds of scientists and psycholigists who agree with me.
