I didn't down vote any of the articles. It was probably drpepper lol but I don't think the articles you posted constitutes California as being the most fouled up state. I can easily find negative articles about any state in our country and claim it is the "most fouled up state". With every positive there comes a negative

and this winter is supposed to be a rainy one, and because of all the years of no rain, our hill sides are dry and fragile. The rain is going to cause damaging mud slides

These pictures show how severe is California's Drought 17 comments

If this isn't convincing enough for you then you're exactly like ignorant Californians that continue to water their driveways. How can this terrible time lapse, of just 3 years btw, NOT be convincing enough. I see photos like this everyday on Facebook and it scares the shit out of me. I live in Southern California and this drought is no joke and is the worst the state has ever seen. I live in a city with the highest water rates in the country and we are facing our rates to triple if water isn't cut back by at least 32%. We are only allowed to water our yards two days a week. If you are seen "wasting" water in any way you will be fined. Lawns are brown, trees are dieing; this is a serious crisis and it's because people like you, that "need more convincing" that our reservoirs are nearly empty in such a short amount of time. (Not attacking you. Just trying to really express how serious this is as bluntly as possible)

I went to elementary school in Southern California and we actually did have two teachers. One would teach certain subjects and the other teacher would teach their subjects. It was pretty awesome and we were a top ranked school. Private though, not public

Our oceans are now having to absorb more carbon than it has ever before causing the sea to become more acidic and ruining ocean life habitats
