Yes, guest you're rght, they all try to reach the nucleus. So at the same time there are plenty of sprems which are around the egg trying to get inside. If one of them can actually reach the egg it's because the nucleus has been weakened by the others.

Actually, it's a team job. The egg needs to be weakened by few sperm and then there is one lucky sperm which can finally break it and get inside. So the winner is not the strongest, it's just the most opportunist!
