Iceland's problems and background are *completely* different from the rest of Europe (except Scandinavia, which didn't get hit so hard) and the US.

not very good job, especially because the colour palette on the chap doesn't match the one behind him... also the light shining over the top of his arms indicates the light source is directly behind him yet in the photo it is more to the right

They'd probably do it with some other species, considering just Greek mythology.

I did not know there were presidents in Spain... I thought it was a monarchy. When was the revolution?

Portuguese weekdays derive from lithurgic latin, i.e. "tertia feria" = "terça-feira", meaning third day (as Sunday is the first day of the week, for Christians)
On the other hands Spain, Italy France and Romania derive their weekdays from "pagan" origins, using the Roman deities as reference. "Martis Dies" (Day of Mars) is Martes, Martedi, Mardi, and Marti.
It's one of those cases where I think Portuguese, being a Latin (Romance) language makes more sense than all the others... in particular Italian.

AFAIK, in Western Europe we are far from having "free college", if anything, college has gotten more expensive year by year. However, in Central and Eastern Europe, they are trying to attract kids by offering with free courses for foreign students.

I do find it odd that my parents paid taxes their entire lives and I had to pay my own tuition at university (at the time it was the equuivalent of $3000/year for an undegrad), while a foreign student might get it for free.

No. The talent is in the guy who did the grafitti art. The wasted talent is in the subject painted therein.
