So I'm white, and I honestly struggle with how to refer to black people should the need arise. I have been saying African American but I guess that isn't right. What should I say that isn't offensive?

Basically the best movie ever in
Existence and I can't recommend this enough. It changed my life. I have seen it around 200 times and when ever I find someone else who knows it I want to cry I am so happy. It's basically my childhood and teenhood and adulthood and life.
