I just had my son last month (5 1/2 weeks) but while I was pregnant 4/5 people would say "boys are so much easier!" when I told them the sex. I think they were mostly referring to the teenage years when hormones kick in, but I also have a theory that "good" behavior is somehow taught to girls intrinsically. I'm considering getting the boy a play tea set so we can start teaching him good table manners early on.
Moms of boys also told me that boys love their mothers more than girls, which I just find a little weird.

The corpse flower at my University bloomed while I was there in '09, I think. It truly smells rank, but it's pretty magnificent just because of it's size

When I was an kid, we had a descent size fish tank. It was always just there, nice to have but, you know, they're fish: mildly entertaining when you remember they're there. Up to a point we only had smaller fish, just the cheap ones from the pet store. Then we got Jack. Jack was the only fish we named as fsr as I know. He was larger, maybe five or six inches long, with a black spot near his tail fin. I don't know if it was his nature, his larger size, or just the fact that he was a dick, but soon after we got him my parents began to notice the number of other fish dwindling. They replaced them for a while, until they finally realized what was happening. The fucker was eating them. That's when he got his name: Jack the Ripper. I don't know the average lifespan of a fish, but Jack, now the only fish in the tank, lived at least 4-5 years I think, probably because he devoured the souls of all those other fish. But after he died of natural causes, the tank was retired.

There is actually a really good article written by his daughter about what happened. It humanizes him and gives a lot more context to the entire situation.
It's on The Guardian website, written by Caroline Rothstein. A basic Google search for "guy who bought unlimited first class ticket" should bring it up

That happened to me when I was playing Skyrim. I lived in a more mountainous, hilly area at the time and my brain kept thinking a dragon was going to fly out from behind one and my heart rate would go up. Odd, but thrilling

That's awesome! Worked on the set as in construction or design? Or did he have a different job?

And if you find this in any way humorous, read any of the Discworld books by Terry Pratchett. They are all filled with gems like this.

I've been to this tiny little town in Scotland! It's wonderful! It's where the breed originated, and that ruin in the background was the home of the noble that bred them!

I have done this. As a tip, measure your toilet paper rolls and make sure the glowsticks you buy are small enough to not stick out the ends of the roll. It kind of ruins the effect.
