Been playing Dark souls 2 for the first time, not a boss so far that I haven't beat in more than just a couple of attempts. But that one Ogre splashing around in the river in the forest of fallen Giants killed me like a gazillion times.

True, but with the speed at which hardware advances, most of the time, it'll be out of date and not up to spec before it really starts to deteriorate. Unless you buy reaaaaaaly top of the line. Though I guess if you're buying after market cooling systems that's probably what you've done.

I'm having a lot of fun with it. It really depends on whether you like looters. The shooting is good, the story's pretty all right. Content at the moment seems pretty lean to some people, but you have to keep in mind that the first game kept growing for almost 3 years, and we can expect the same for this one. As far as your "will I waste my life on it question, I'm not sure if you mean is it super grindy (which, compared to other looters, it is not, by a long shot). Or if it's a waste of time/money/whateverelseispossibletowasteonvideogames. In which case, it depends heavily on your preferences, but I think it's definitely worth a try at least. Just, don't expect to play it just for the main campaign, cause that's not the game. The game is endgame stuff like raids and such. So if you're in to that kind of thing, definitely pick it up.
