The guy I started dating a month ago and I seem to be headed in this direction. He makes me feel wonderful but we know when it's time to focus on ourselves. I used to think that love was needing each other all the time and feeling empty with out them. I was in an abusive relationship for a year and a half until I realized I was completely dependent on him and he isolated me from many of my friends. My new boyfriend is the first guy I've felt safe enough to be with in that way since my abusive ex (it's been almost 4 years since we broke up). It takes time to find someone and I'm not saying my current boyfriend is my soulmate but I know I feel safe and respected around him and that's worth waiting for.
