The truth about football vs. Soccer 30 comments

The obvious solution is for the rest of the world to get with the times and realize that the one on the left is soccer. It is not and never will be football no matter how insistent they are in persisting with their ignorance.

It isn't football. It's soccer. Not "It's called soccer by Americans". On an objective, factual level, it is soccer and the one on the right is football.

I'm aware that many people call soccer football. My point is that they are objectively wrong and should stop.

It isn't just what we call them. It's what they actually are at an object time level.

The left picture is clearly soccer no matter where you are and the one on the right is clearly football. Some people will erroneously claim that the one on the left is football but they will be wrong.

Sure people will dislike him but to say it doesn't matter is erroneous. If we had someone competent as president instead of Obama the country would be in a much betterbplace.

So letting people keep the money that they earned is more of a problem than taking money that was earned by one person and giving it to someone who didn't earn it?

It isn't dumb, it's physics. 32 and 212 degrees are the points where there is the proper amount of energy involved for water to change state. And it doesn't matter if everyone else uses Celsius, most of the world does a lot of foolish things like referring to soccer as football. They're wrong on both counts.

Neither. There's no logical reason for the original post to be in Celsius instead of Farenheit.

-173C? What is that in actual numbers? And yes, I know the conversion formula to F, buy there's no reason to have to use it. You should just post using sensible units in the first place.

There's absolutely no reason for us to switch. The metric system is an abomination

No, I'm talking sense. The rest of the world insists on being obstinate and not getting with the times.

Counterpoint: Most of us know how to use the metric system, we simply choose not to because it's inferior.
What do you suggest we need to begin with, to fix it all? 13 comments

It's true. He's made two or three helpful decisions in his 6+ years as president. That's a heck of a record compared to the dozens or horrible policies that he's implemented.

Yea, it will take a long time to fix the damage that he did.

No, football. Sorry, I should have been more specific and said a pointed oblong ball for football rather than a rounded oblong ball for rugby.

No, just because they use incorrect terminology elsewhere doesn't change the nature of reality. The game with the spherical white and black checkered ball is soccer, the one with the oblong brown ball with white laces is football.

This doesn't make sense. Soccer leagues have relagation, it doesn't affect footballers.

The facts support my stance but you can go ahead and ignore them. Apparently you are happy in your ignorance and have no interest in the knowledge that I am sharing. Enjoy your life of pissing people off because you want to walk really, really effing slowly.

You can disagree and that's fine. You should be aware of the fact that you are wrong but disagree away if that's what makes you happy.

There's variance within the norm (mostly accounted for by height) but some people reach a point where they are so far outside the norm that it can't possibly be unintentional.

No because I walk at a normal speed. If I try to walk at an abnormal speed it takes effort. If I practiced walking at an abnormal speed enough I could theoretically reach a point where it was no longer a constant effort to walk that speed.
