That wont work for long, due to the fact that Mars has a very low gravitation field it wont hold the CO2 for long enough for the CO2 to start a healthy greenhouse gas based atmosphere. However if we sent over "modified" CO2 that is much denser, and will therefore not escape the planets low gravitational field. Another option could be to invent oxygen generators and place them on the surface to provide the planet enough constant CO2 to develop a long term atmosphere.

I wish that at one point, in humanities, uncertain and exciting future, we shall restore our rusty red friend to its former beauty, through what means we shall achieve this I don't know; Terra Forming, Atmospheric healing, or some incompressible feat of science beyond our very imagination, we shall do it.

The darker blocks are hotter because black absorbs more light then the red bricks. Red bricks only absorbs up to the colour red in the visible spectrum whereas black absorbs every colour/wave of the visible spectrum therefore absorbing more energy which of course produces heat, causing the snow to melt faster on darker surfaces. :D
