...in a merchandise to be sold by the European (mostly Portuguese in the beginning). The major problem was this ethnical detail add a complete different meaning behind. There were a segregation on the social classes that was directly influenced by the color of the person and this segregation perpetuates today still. I agree that I am not guilty of having a slave nowadays but can I say that I am completely free of guilty for the system that exists today that is completely repressive to the African descendants? Can't I help they fight for a better world to live,starting by realizing that today's situation is a historical consequence of the fuck up stuff the white men did in the past?
More the 13 million black man were brought to America and of those 4 million died in the voyage. I will search the references for those info in English because Nerdologia,a YouTube channel from here,made an awesome video about slavery.

I can say for dcottingham but I disagree with your saying because the slavery that we had here in the America was very different of the slavery of the ancient times, that the Romans or Islamic tribes had. On that time you were a slave if you were a prisoner of war or lost your freedom because of financial crisis.But you could escape your fate of a slave if you convert to Islam (on the Islamic world) or join the military (on the Roman world). Everyone could be a slave on those times.
