Not really true. Some police officers may be racially biased but most are not. If something is illegal then it is illegal. If you know you are partaking in an illegal act don’t cry racism when you get arrested for it.

Cuz your cousin probably didn’t obey the laws of where he was growing it. The law is the law whether you agree with it or not.

I don’t throw it around. It’s the truth. People intentionally divide themselves from people because of differing opinions. That is what it means to be divisive.

surveyed, the administrator of the poll, and all sorts of other biases in polling (non-response, selective response, etc.). Yet people will still see any number they think sounds accurate or a number that fits their own opinion and take that as fact and use it to support their arguments. The only way to get a true percentage of Trump’s approval would be to ask every single American. Every other number you see is going to be skewed in some way.

Also, the media’s job is to make money off of controversy. No news site is trustworthy in my opinion. There will always be bias. Even if they only report facts and don’t give their opinions, they can still be bias in which facts they choose to report. Don’t believe everything you see is true or that it is the full story because in most cases it isn’t. Learn to read the news without your own bias and gather information from liberal, conservative, and moderate news outlets if you want to get a well-rounded version of a story. Confirmation bias is a real threat to this country and is the reason why “fake news” was ever a thing in the first place. If people believe something very strongly they will find any reason they can to continue believing in it. If there’s a falsified news story some people might ignore that and still use it to confirm their own beliefs. An example is all the polls for Trump’s approval rating. No poll is without bias. It could be the demographics of the people...

This site is starting to piss me off. You’re all so divisive. You won’t hear any other arguments and you label Trump supporters as idiots without hearing their reasoning. I’m a republican but I’m not a Trump supporter. You complain about the way our country is but don’t put in effort to reason with the people you disagree with. If you ever want the state of this country to get better you need to actually have logical conversations with people on both sides of the political spectrum. Believe it or not, if you actually put in an effort, it IS possible to talk to people with different beliefs than you without just hurling insults and saying they’re dumb. This goes for everybody, not just democrats, but that’s just what I’ve been seeing in these particular comments.

I just hate when they have a character be LGBT just for the sake of diversity and not because that character is the best fit for the role. I don’t care what orientation you are just be good for the role.

People don’t realize how many assassination attempts have probably been thwarted by the secret service before they were put into action. It’s just not the kind of thing that gets publicized.

Except when you’re surrounded by people who are giving 80% and you are seen as lazy and a slacker so you get fired to make room for someone who will do your job better.

I can understand how that can bother people but I still hold my stance because I think that’s a dumb thing to be annnoyed over. It’s hair. Humans are a curious species. I see nothing wrong with asking (politely, and being able to accept no as the answer).

I just don’t understand being offended as long as the person is polite. You obviously have the right to decline and I wouldn’t endorse touching somebody’s hair without asking. If something as simple as people asking to touch your hair every so often makes you angry or offends you that just seems kinda sad to me.

I don’t understand why people getting offended by somebody asking if they can touch your hair. Obviously nobody would be happy if somebody touched their hair without permission but if somebody is asking you why get offended? Just politely decline if you don’t want them to.

Very good point @lucky11, you’re absolutely right.
@anthracite you absolutely have the right to not own a gun. Nowhere in our laws is there mandatory gun ownership. Not everyone has the right to own a gun however because they forfeit their right by breaking certain laws or have a mental illness which would disqualify them for owning a firearm. But we all have the right to not own one if we choose to.

I respect people’s right to not own a gun and I respect people who fear guns and don’t like them, but hell I love America and I love shooting guns.

Very well said @poisin_kat. I think guest may have somewhat been on to something but it was said in an impolite manner. You’re absolutely right that bullying is more of an excessive harassment than societal pressure is in terms of correcting odd behaviors. Sorry to hear that you were bullied when you were young. Some people are just too small minded to understand that their actions can have a lasting impact on a person emotionally.

I’m pretty sure you should have expectations for your children. When I have kids I’d expect them to eat fruits and veggies, I’d expect them to not be a bully, I’d expect them to do their best in school even if their best isn’t great. Not having any expectations is dangerous

A relaxing stroll through a forest can help ease the symptoms of depression for some people but it is not an antidepressant, and I hate the idea that meds are garbage and make you a different person. They help make you into the person you ought to be by putting you on an equal level chemically to someone who isn’t clinically depressed. There’s nothing wrong with being on meds.
