Side note reply: as the world population male to female ratio is near 50/50 or 102 males to 100 females, the fact that the sexs have equal numbers in office likely means they are picking based on qualification or a different qualifier instead of gender. Which is positive and at least not an issue in this instance.

I would also like to add the thought that perhaps "pain of child birth" might stretch to pain of monthly prep our bodies do and all parts associated with having the child as well as complications. I mention this as someone with endometriosis which is where the female organ lining attaches to or grows into other organs 1/10 women have it and many have been hospitalized for it including myself. Our bodies just having the organs can mimic the pain with certain conditions. (Side story my great aunt had kids and she said it was over quicker and less painful than her period)

Plus based purely on numbers men have murdered partners by a much higher rate. In those situations men are often controlling so its probably some form of stigma like that causing more people to be like ah creepy for a guy to do. But its not right for either party as shootthezomszoms said.
