OMG.The catch is that it is a f'ing Cici's pizza. I don't know if any of you have been to one of Cici's pizza buffets, but if not: imagine a smouldering post apocalyptic Chuck-e-cheese run by a drunk, angry rat in a stained short-sleeve dress shirt/clip on tie combo, flinging "pizza" (burnt toast crusts slathered in Arby's sauce and cheese food) onto a line of broken dressers, while screaming at his scurrying employees to throw more garbage and food across the floor and tables as the smell of gas station restroom gently wafts through the air, permeating carpet, fabric, flesh, and soul. Tokens? Of course. Tokens buy sadness and shame. On the bright side, it is only 5 bucks plus drink :)

I want to give credit the Roseville, MN school district. The main summer/after school childcare program is run by the school district, and is held in the schools. During the summer, the program (Friendship Academy) provides free breakfast to any school age child that shows up. The thought is that for some kids, school lunch may play a significant role in their overall nutrition and they may otherwise just go without.

I really like the sign/display idea. My dogs frequently come with me, and I worry some good intentioned moron will break my window.

I'd just like to say that I appreciate your well-researched comments. I may not always agree with your take on the facts (not that I can think of a specific instance, but I doubt I totally agree with anyone), but I trust your integrity and recognize your thoughtfulness.

I don't know, having a teen, I can see this happening. I think the only wrong part, is caring she won't talk. Won't talk? Hell, let me not give you two phones.

I honestly enjoy tipping, actually over-tipping. I spent a lot of years working at jobs that had a gratuity component; I remember the pleasure I got from receiving a large tip. It was more than the money, it felt like actually being seen. Now that I actually have a reasonably well paying career, it feels like a responsibility to use a portion of my resources to help or make others happy. I get that some of it may just be feeding my ego, but I also know it feels right and I never felt bad about getting a good tip, regardless of the person's motivation.

In the analogy the more vulnerable are those who cannot be vaccinated to to other infirmities or lack of agency, e.g. children.
