And... that's why I'm a self-employed sole-propietor. I've been in both positions and have seen jerks on either side. This way I always get to be the jerk, regardless of the situation.

In actuality, the majority of experiments are done at universities. The most commonly used demographic for participants is university students. This of course automatically taps into a certain level of privilege. However some psychologists, usually BIPOC psychologists, are specializing in research and treatment of non-white and female patients. It is slow going, but at least it is going.

Me too. I wonder what would have happened if the tank driver said no. What might China be today? Of course he'd be dead as dirt regardless.

Not expecting hand holding as the threat. Was a bit taken aback. Learned a little something about myself.

Thanks! That's all that's saving it right now. It's a little circle heater thing that keeps about a 4" hole open in the ice, but it allows the pump to go. Also, never lived around chipmunks before. They are cute as F!

Over the last couple of years I've been working on this little stream/pond thing in my backyard. I finally got it right and decided to see how long I could keep it going before freezing this winter (live in MN, US). Around November, wildlife started using it as a water source (birds, squirrels, & chipmunks). Now I HAVE to keep it from freezing. Not easy when last night it was -12 F. Definitely worth it though, even lugging five gallon pails of water from the house. I may look like a lumberjack, but I get to feel like a Disney Princess.
