I love learning about women in history pushing the boundaries, so when I saw this I looked up some info on Alice Roosevelt to see if this was a true quote. Wikipedia says that this quote was in response to this: "Once, a White House visitor commented on Alice's frequent interruptions to the Oval Office, often to offer political advice." She did smoke cigarettes but I thought that this quote being about a woman putting her two cents into presidential meetings was even better.

I first read "A Wrinkle in Time" by Madeleine L'Engle when I was 10 years old. As an adult I've read it over and over again.
