If you look at the old ass anime, the real real old stuff, it takes a lot of characteristics from Walt Disney's drawings. Yes, the original style of anime was influenced by western art. And look what Speedo does with his legs. He moves himself slightly when they're spinning, so YellowPants lands on his back. If Speedo held the same position he grabbed on at, YellowPants would have landed on his damn neck.
