I always though the introspective part of BvsS was a good thing on superman bec he has so many powers so his ultimate downfall would be his own guilt over all the people he couldn't save because of course he couldn't save every single person. His martyrdom is his ultimate crux but they never really went down that route.

That's because nz historically hasn't had many mammals thus the birds haven't evolved with much predation, and have become flightless. It's introduced species such as stoats and possums that are endangering our native birds
