Pokemon started being famous when I was graduating, I was 22. I can recognize a Bulbosaur because intertubes, but almost nobody I know ever cared about it. I'm sure all my colleagues know the word "pokemon" but I bet half of them can't name one or even recognize a pokemon when they see one.

Meds are good. I wouldn't expect a diabetic to get off their meds, why should I?

It's actually quite difficult. Of the 100 unread emails, the 10 ignored friends, the 3 simultaneous projects at work, and the electricity company to call, and the dentist appointment, and the pills subscription to renew, which one should I fix first? I need to make a list of all the shit I cannot deal with, and that's one extremely tough task to do. Anyway, I have N things to do, if I do one I'll have N-1 things to do. By the time I've recovered enough energy to do the next task, something will have happened to increase N again. When N is huge, it makes no difference. I never feel happiness, or pride from achieving something, at best I feel relief. It's like being perpetually in debt, except that with money it's actually possible to be above 0.

Yeah, 11-dimensional discrete curved topologies are hard to represent. For that pic though, one dimension was enough since at these scales the universe is isotropic.

It's not distance, it's a derivative. Kind of a sucky notation, I agree, but it does make sense, provided you simplify according to the laws of calculus.

(Its* cover.) As someone who has no contact whatsoever with swagness, I would love reading about it (so that i can understand the internet). Could you point me to a few example of smart swaggy people?

Mathematics are simple. We are complicated. Learning math is mainly about forgetting assumptions, unlearning heuristics, removing cruft until we drill down to the essence of what we are really trying to say. And once we've done that, we look back and think "that was so freaking obvious, how could I have mixed all that shit up until now?".
As for 1+1, it really depends on your monoidal category of choice. 1 can be a Singleton set and + the disjoint union, 1 can be a truth value and + an exclusive or, 1 can be the Unit type and + a coproduct. In all cases 1 is a terminal object and + a tensor product (associative unital bi(covariant)functor).

But cute though ;) 7 comments

It's not hate, we're not going to develop baby-targeting biological weapons. I dislike babies like I dislike RnB music, the color blue, the taste of beetroot and tiny dogs. I avoid them, and if the thought of it makes me gag I won't pretend it doesn't.
