I'm talking about slight trends over millennia, most of which happened before tools were invented. I've been trying to dig up the article I read on the subject fifteen years ago but no luck so far; I'll ask some friends.

Then again, isn't it weird that we can find free code all over the place, but barely any free art? Devs are pushing their entire hard drives to GitHub, sharing solutions on StackOverflow, while artists are sitting on their work.

Jokes are way funnier when they're told by a black Jewish lesbian, it's a fact.

My mom was pretending to commit suicide, or just suddenly die, in front of me just to see if I cared. I was six, it went on for years. I never stopped caring, I just started hoping she would stop pretending.

I've stayed in a place like that in French Guinea. Less fancy of course. The ceiling was completely covered in spiderwebs, and spiders. Sweet dreams.

Too bad it's totally impossible to implement a "Fast Forward" feature. Kerbal Space Program and its accurate Newtonian 2-bodies physics has been boring its players to death for years. Oh wait, no.

Scientific accuracy is so boring that modders write plugins for Kerbal Space Program in order to introduce better aerodynamics physics (lift, heating...), better life support models, 1:1 scale solar systems, 3-body physics... I guess they're doing all that without having fun at all. And people who download and install these mods do so while crying in pain. Nobody in their right mind would ever find the real world interesting, and simulations of it entertaining.

Yeah, because NMS is tooootally about scientific accuracy, sure. Not all space games are the same. Look at Elite, Kerbal Space Program, or Eve: different levels of realism. There is room for more.

Natural selection actually causes that. Babies that obviously look nothing like their fathers don't get to grow up and reproduce. So, bland babies are allowed to live and spread their bland-at-birth genes. Wait a few hundred millennia and you've got today's situation, even in a civilized world.

I was 18 eighteen years ago; I'm a very different person now. We should change our names every 18 years.

In France, we use pens and cursive from the very beginning. Ball pens from age 5, fountain pens mandatory in high school. I used pencils only to draw graphs and figures.

10^-5 Hz! And I thought I was working at low frequency with my terahertz. I remember working in decametric in the past, but I've never been lower. These frequencies are inverse of orbital periods, aren't they? No way that's the frequency of the photons themselves.
