He was really chill. Most students thought of him as a friend more than a teacher. It was totally okay to swear in class, and talk about generally inappropriate-for-math-class things, like cocaine, or how many people you should kill, if any. He was the only teacher I asked for a selfie with at prom, then I posted it on instagram, tagged him in it, and pestered him in class endlessly until he commented on it.
On the flipside, he did like to veer off topic in class and one of my high-achieving, honour roll friends hated him because she claimed he didn't actually teach, he only provided resources for you to learn (which was far from my experience with him, but we weren't in the same class, and there were two years in between us having him, so things may have changed then, idk)

I feel like you all might be interested in this movie i watched with my brother last year called "As One" (2012) that tells the story of the first post-war unified Korean table tennis team that won gold in japan in 1991. It's pretty touching, and equally interesting, since it shows a new perspective.
