Yes. Also, if I'm not mistaken there is no plastic recycling in the US anymore since it relied upon China buying the plastic trash.
China now produces enough plastic trash om its own and thus stopped imports.

If you are afraid of flying I recommend Mentour Pilot's channel. While it is exclusively aircraft incidents, he explains all sadeguards in place before and after the incidents, and really makes you realise how much must go wrong for an accident to happen.
