I'm currently at school and my wifi's pretty limited but there's plenty of YouTube videos that compare 5sos's songs to bands like FOB, MCR, and Blink-182 so you can look that up if you want to hear proof. I'd just thought I'd speak my mind about this bc there are a lot of people who don't acknowledge these issues. I try to be open-minded and not judge people on music taste but 5sos is just unacceptable

Okay sorry if I offended anybody, but you just can't call them punk rock. They have ripped off way too many bands to even be considered punk. I just can't support an artist/group that blatantly rips off of others' work and calls it their own. Sampling's fine but give credit where credit is due otherwise you can't have said that your songs are original. Plus, from what I've heard their lyrics are mainly about trying to get in some girl's pants and I've seen some of their homophobic/sexist tweets and I don't see how people can support that

I guess I repressed the memory of this one time a friend of mine asked me to help her with a photo shoot for her photo class and tried to put mascara and eyeliner on me, but my eyelashes are too long and thick for that stuff so basically it didn't work and I had weird smudges around my eyes the whole day and it wouldn't come off and I wanted to die

Sorry but they're a sexist, homophobic band that steals from other bands without giving credit. They're sponsored by corporate pop to get teenage girls to think they're being punk rock but one major part of being punk rock is to not be sponsored by corporate pop. Also, they fucking toured with fucking One Direction making them basically a boy "band"
