So don't take your puppy for a hike. Take them for a carry.

Antisocial is not a synonym for introverted or isolationist. Anti-social means that the person is devoid of compassion and empathy for others, and seeks to undermine society.
It is true that those that are introverted do seek out others and can be quite comfortable in social settings. The difference between introvert and extrovert is that introverts tend to be very selective of who they spend their time with. They also find social events t be exhausting, leaving them to need time alone to convalesce. Extroverts on the other hand find social events/situations make them more energized.

Im so sorry for your loss. It sucks to lose an animal, however brief they were yours. Even though you were unable to save her, I'm sure her life was vastly improved after you took her in, and was loved and cared for.

Truth: Logic applied to children's issues 15 comments

One thing you might not think of as a component to the anti-bullying campaign is that it teaches those that do bully others, not just that it's wrong, but how do deal with their own problems and anger in a better way. A lot of bullying comes out of self hatred/self-esteem issues, anger problems, and frustrations associated with feeling powerless. Instead of waiting till the child reaches adulthood, and self sabotages themselves until they are forced to change and learn how to cope with their life/emotions, it teaches them while they're still young. For both victims and aggressors, learning at a younger age how to cope with life means we have children and young adults who not only respect others, but have the skills to deal with the pressure of school, work and relationships.

Truth: America is not doing so well :( 41 comments

I think people think that the president has more power then he does. Look at congress and the senate. They share just as much to blame for legislature like wiretapping. To be honest, i think shows like "scandal" and "house of cards" are more accurate to how our government does business then we would be comfortable to admit.
You want change in America? Look into how your states representatives conduct themselves and if they really are ethical and good people. Or if they're crooks supporting crooked legislation. And always educate yourselves on both sides of a debate, election, campaign, and vote accordingly.

A tan is you're body defending itself against the radiation from the sun. Your skin produces more melanin to block and protect against future damage. So while technically a "base tan" helps protect you from future exposure, the tan itself is a sign of skin cell damage caused by the sun.

I wear sunscreen 24/7, even in the winter. I still manage to get a bit of a tan. I know far too many people my age that look 10 or more years older then they are. Plus I'm insanely pale.

Not everyone can stand up for themselves. And blaming a victim and saying their the ones that need to change, is the problem. Bullying is not a victims fault. And you'll notice I did acknowledge that people do need to accept that the world is full of jerks and learn to deal with that.
Blaming the victim removes blame from the aggressor. Should people stand up to bullies? Absolutely. Should people work to not let other people bother them? Yes. But I would rather have a society that focuses on tolerance and respect rather than telling people to "not be a victim". A bully creates the victim, not the other way around.
I've never been bullied. But my 2 year old has already come up against ridicule and hurtful behavior by just being different. She has Down syndrome. What should she do exactly, to not be a victim?

The best part of having kids, is being able to build that pillow fort, and hang out in it with your kids while you watch Disney movies and eat cookies. You get to do all the fun kid stuff over again.

I do think that people need to develop a thick skin. No one is going to pass through this life without criticism or meet only nice people. But there's nothing wrong with telling people to treat others with respect and not bully. Were trying to create a society that that's tolerant and respectful of others, rather then blaming those that are bullied and telling them to change. I can't see how teaching people not to bully is a bad thing. It's about stoping the damage bullying causes before it happens, rather then just treating the problems it creates after the fact.

They are. The Columbine shooters were actually not kids who were bullied till they snapped. One was even popular. But he had narsististic personality disorder and was a sociopath, the other had severe depression was heavily influenced by the other.
