She was going to be matched with someone but engagements in those days often lasted years before the actual marriage.

Don't know how to delete an account, sorry. Just wanted to say there's nothing wrong with getting older before looking at some stuff, it's actually really brave to admit that. Ignore the guests, there's a reason they don't want people to know who they are.

mrssparklez, while I don't like this post, I just wanted to say that I know all the other good stuff you've posted. And since you apologized and explained this was a way to show the comments, not show approval of them, I just wanted to say that everyone posts something every now and then that doesn't go over well and no hard feelings. Good luck with all the crap you're getting from this and keep going!

My parents taught me this so well. My mom by treating me with love and respect and my biological father by doing the exact opposite. I haven't seen him since middle school and I've never been happier. Parents: please follow this!

Balonyman, I wasn't trying to "shit on your head". You're totally allowed to share your opinion, and I'm sorry if I made you feel like you couldn't. I just disagreed and wanted to understand your point of view, because I was really curious and I love debating. Please don't feel like you can't comment. I still don't see your point, but that doesn't matter. I hope we're good. :)

I felt like he was talking more about how "you're beautiful" wouldn't make the women who were raped and suffer in silence feel any better, and how awful it is to live in a place where you are told you're lucky to be ugly because you won't be raped (which isn't even true, attractiveness does not mean a higher risk of rape, babies are raped, 90 year old women are raped, appearance, age and everything else people cite has nothing to do with it.)

Balonyman, seriously! A) Killing races or religions matter because it's not a faceless entity, it's people! How would you feel if someone said that your life and the lives of your friends and family didn't matter? A race or religion has children, innocents, couples in love, elderly people, people who are smart, lovable, kind, thoughtful funny individuals who are worth something. Also, saying the fact animals are killed means people dying doesn't matter is like saying that if someone robs someone on the street, then it's fine for them to hold up a bank! Two wrongs don't make a right.
B) Where did you even get the idea that Hitler was all for equality? He NEVER did anything for equality. He fought against equality with torture and death. I cannot understand what you see in him that makes you believe he would create equality between races but I'd really like to know because I don't understand!

Balonyman, I agree that many people supported Hitler because of all the things he promised them. But as time went on, many began to realise that the freedom he talked about only applied to certain people. Also, I don't really care about which specific race you said, I would feel the same way if you said it wouldn't matter if they killed all Muslims, or Chinese people, or Hispanics, or Buddhists. Whichever it is, it's not a price I would be comfortable paying for supposed freedom. And I have to ask you something: what makes you think that racism wouldn't be tolerated by Hitler? I don't understand and I'm curious.
