There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part. You can't even passively take part.

I would vote that into a new rule. "Speak softly and carry a sharp switchblade."

It's one of those things that are everywhere, right? I work in a public office, and I can tell you there is still graffiti of penises everywhere, so it's not an age thing. The mystery of men....

I am really glad that this has gotten so much attention and conversation from everyone, and I think you are all making some fantastic points. This is a great article that has a lot of examples from dress codes all around America (that actually sound like some of your schools!!). If you're curious how far dress codes have gone and what message they're sending, check it out: http://jezebel.com/lets-reinvent-the-dont-be-a-slut-school-dress-code-509077807

Just because things are worse elsewhere doesn't mean you have to tolerate intolerance in your own home. My siblings can get married and enjoy rights I can't, just because of the gender of my partner. I am unequal in my own country where I am expected to pay the same taxes you refer to. Ask my partner if it's a big deal. Ask my parents. Just because the system works in your favor does not mean it's working.

This makes me want to take my nephew to a train store next time I babysit. Leave the child with me, will you? Muhaha!

Well, it's a well documented fact that shoulders drive men (and women!) ink be seen fits of lust they cannot control, you know.

I feel you, Sass, I still have all my clothing and clothing people have left here over the past few years. I joke that my style is "Hobo Chic," but really it's just college

That is crazy. What would the gang sign for that gang be, I wonder? "Straight up penguin, yo."

My high school was the same way- it creates such an environment of shame for girls, I think. Like "Cover yourselves up! What are you doing, tempting boys with your seductive kneecap?"

I think this story says a lot about how black woman in general are portrayed in the media. I liked this article: http://jezebel.com/people-are-obsessed-with-michelle-obamas-not-amused-1481041209

I don't always post sad things- when I came on here there were so many people talking about how their lives were, and how they wished there was something they could do- how they wished someone who would hear them.
So if I take 4-6 posts out of 100 to share information on how people can get the help they need to fight depression, not to cut, to find support- I think that's a really good use of space. Thank you for asking though!
