There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part. You can't even passively take part.

This would be brilliant if he just reversed the footage like "Muhaha, fear me."

That's a really good point! We need to stop making judgements about people based on the way they dress- Especially since we wouldn't want them to judge us :-)

I think if the top girl was saying "I feel more comfortable in conservative clothing." as in giving an opinion on herself, I wouldn't have an issue with it. But trying to police or tell others what is "appropriate" or "acceptable" is not okay- where is that line drawn?
Do we tell women they have to cover their heads and wear dresses to their ankles for fear of inciting lust in others? Do we go to burkas like some middle eastern countries?

I do too, which is why I love Lacey Green's response to it. People trying to tell others what to do with their bodies is ridiculous- I liked the sarcasm back :-)

I think you are highlighting something really important- that "well, this is just the way it is" mentality- that means it's not natural, it's not something that we are born with- it has to be taught and driven into us by society (and media especially!). Just because in public girls and boys may choose to go with this modified behavior, these norms, that doesn't mean we're all the same by any means. Each person has a universe in them- and when we look around and question why we behave these ways, we recognize there was never a reason to in the first place.

This is a funny joke, lol, but in the real world make sure you don't take your birth control with orange juice or any kind of acidic drink- it cancels out the effectiveness of them. The same with prescription antibiotics- a lot of those cancel the effectiveness too!

So if I tell a twelve year old boy he hits like a girl, plays baseball like a girl- that is equal to saying to a girl that she hits like a boy? No, it's not, because society has made boys think being a girl means being weak, being emotional, being scared. It is definitely a social issue, because society is who creates these stereotypes.

This is fantastic- those stories make me twitch when I read them. It bothers me that people accept them so blindly.

For a girl to be called a tomboy does not have the same societal implications of calling a boy a girl- there isn't even a mirror term for an acceptable way for a young boy to be feminine leaning like there is a tomboy girl.

Think of the worst insult you can call a boy. Really, bad. I bet in your head right now you are thinking some slur for either a woman or a homosexual (so a 'feminine' man). Boys are told to stop acting like girls in practices, to nut up, princess- this isn't a tea party. In a thousand ways they are told being and behaving as a girl is wrong, unacceptable, and will be mocked. This is widespread.

I agree, the parents are being very dramatic and petty- you should have unconditional love for your child, and it's very sad to see how many fail their children.

Picture taking? That is still a definite invasion of your privacy and personal space- plus you guys aren't out walking around to teach the world anything- it's not your job to educate anyone, or be a prop to their "look, I'm cool with gay people, see!" Stories. I'd brainstorm a way you both feel comfortable politely declining their fangirling- Or start charging money. My girlfriend and I agree at least $10 for the two of you is minimum :-)

Absolutely, I like the definition:
verb (pərˈvərt/)
1. alter (something) from its original course, meaning, or state to a distortion or corruption of what was first intended.
2. lead (someone) away from what is considered right, natural, or acceptable
noun (pərvərt/)
1. a person whose sexual behavior is regarded as abnormal and unacceptable.
synonyms: deviant

That's very true- young queer men have the whole issue of being portrayed in the media in adorable ways rivaled only by puppies and patents- which is still stereotyping that people need to move past. Being in a couple where we both identify as female, we mostly get the whistles or the catcalls- because everyone knows that's sexy, right? Lol.
