There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part. You can't even passively take part.

And there have been more laws passed regarding abortion in the past two years then have happened in the past ten combined- there is definitely a change in the debate, legislation, and social outcome of this issue. It's been a very volatile year(s) for both sides.

I think the really important phrase you said there is "the mother chose life." The woman had a right to choose. She wasn't shackled for 9 months in an asylum or prison, she wasn't made a convict for the sake of a pregnancy- the woman got to choose. That is what being pro-choice is- believing that there are circumstances that you couldn't understand or force a woman to stay pregnant, and that she is the best person to decide. That it is her choice.

Durell- I remember that you are South African, a lot of the statistics I quoted are from America. The situation in your country is different, and so are the statistics. I pulled up this article which goes into more detail if you are interested: http://blog.ecu.edu/sites/genderpoliticsculture/blog/2012/04/24/the-problem-of-rape-in-south-africa/ ***I am adding on a site with counseling and information services too, should you know anyone who needs them: http://www.blaauwberg.net/cic/usefulnumbers.asp

Thank you! I am not offended by that at all! Yes, I identify as pansexual- I have been in relationships with straight/bisexual men, transgender men, and lesbian women. Which sounds like a lot, lol, but only one at a time!

I would love to know what town you're in, that sounds like a very interesting campaign. I tried to Google some of the key aspects that you described to see if I could find to organization, but all I could find was speak out groups like "Men Can Stop Rape" and "RAINN." A large majority of rape that occurs is male on male rape, and in institutions like prison or in power play situations like pedophilia. I have never heard clothing discussed as a factor in any of those cases.

I believe through C-section. If there was a way to create a pseudo uterus in men that could house a pregnancy, that would be the easiest way to deliver, hypothetically.

Blaming the victim is a sickness, one people catch from there own preconceptions and standards. You need to look at why you think that. If you are a man, do you think of woman as targets in that way? If you are a woman, haven't you ever been afraid? Think before you judge.

That's absolutely false. Children get raped- are they to blame? Are they promiscuous? Muslim women with nothing showing but their eyes get raped. One in four women in the United States is raped before they turn thirty- that is your sister, your mother, your girlfriends, your neighbors. How can you take the blame from the rapists and put it on them?
Men are not animals, to say they see skin or a drunk woman and cannot help but have sex with her is equally disgusting and degrading. Men should be offended and repulsed by these lies as well.

I am sure they keep track of IP addresses, so if you point out that a new member is not only saying he's the recently banned member, and he has the same IP address, they could ban that account as well. They would have to keep a record, or else every guest could down or up vote a post multiple times. So there is that.

Exactly, that's the irony- if pregnancy (and I mean getting pregnant) were an equal risk to all genders, think of how the debates around reproductive healthcare would change. We don't debate about viagra, but we do about contraception. I think it would be much different!

I think you are definitely on the right track- the ideas to reduce the amount of unwanted pregnancies should be common goals that we all focus on- like better education about birth control, better support for low income families, and easier access to healthcare for everyone. I am pro-choice because I believe that women and not the government should have control over their reproductive health and choices- but those steps are ones everyone should agree on.

Boys get raped- but this post is about the attitude towards women who are raped and then blamed for it. When a man is raped, do you ever hear them say he shouldn't have been wearing revealing clothing? Or staying out late by himself? Or asked how many sexual partners he has had previously? No, you don't, but women who are raped do.

He doesn't need to justify anything to you, and you have no right to judge him. Your religion says only God may judge, he without sin may cast stones, and love thy neighbor. Clean yourself up for Christ before telling others to- it's embarrassing.

Being an adult is knowing your actions and words have consequences. Accepting harassment is not "being an adult," nor is allowing it by your silence.
