There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part. You can't even passively take part.

Are you referring to me guest? I don't see where in my post I have made the argument that women characters of comic books are drawn to be attractive to men- could you clarify what it is that made you see that as my premise? Thank you.

That's an idea, I was thinking the less mature route of poking holes on the top and jumping all over it to see how high you could get the water to shoot up lol

Statue Of A Homeless Jesus Startles A Wealthy Town... 10 comments

'A new religious statue in the town of Davidson, N.C., is unlike anything you might see in church. The statue depicts Jesus as a vagrant sleeping on a park bench. St. Alban's Episcopal Church installed the homeless Jesus statue on its property in the middle of an upscale neighborhood filled with well-kept townhomes. Jesus is huddled under a blanket with his face and hands obscured; only the crucifixion wounds on his uncovered feet give him away. Some loved it; some didn't.'

I feel like we all need the official marvel source on the issue- the mythology in Norse is different from the Marvel. The comic mythology also altered and changed or varied several times over the years, so a lot of you who are saying different things are correct- just in differing realities. Check it out yourselves:
Marvel: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mjolnir_(comics)
The Marvel Universe Webpage: http://marvel.com/universe/Mjolnir

Here is an article that was featured taking characters from comic books and comparing them to their equally buffed out actors, ten examples in all. And again, this is featured in a muscle and fitness magazine, targeted at men, not women: http://www.muscleandfitness.com/news-and-features/galleries/athletes-and-celebrities/superbodies-10-fittest-comic-heroes

I think you missed the point the commenter in the post was making- about how the "idealized male" of muscles, where ever he is displayed, however much he is displayed, isn't the actual ideal for women. Women have a whole different set of wants. It's not about anyone being sexualized... at least not in this post. Read more here:

Actually, 61% of women who have abortions in the US already have 1 or more child, less than 45% of women who seek abortions are unmarried or not in a cohabiting relationships. The stereotypes out there of women who get abortions are very wrong. Look here for some quick facts: http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/fb_induced_abortion.html
