Actually "about 2 inches" is correct. "As far as you can go" is really not a good idea. Especially on a smaller adult. You could end up crushing someone's heart instead of making it circulate blood. Please don't try that method on anyone.

I'm CPR certified. You have to compress the chest of an adult about 2 inches for each compression. It won't feel pretty. It's not supposed to.
