I was in Ontario and I was like 11 or 12 and knew some French from middle school. I'm alone on this elevator and this kid gets on and I say hi, but he says "Je ne parle en Engles" (I know that is not the right spelling or conjugation, but it's been over a decade since I've used the stuff) so I got "Je ne parle en Francis" and try to say some things to him, but he was just silent, and once the doors opened I got off. Never tried to use my limited French knowledge again.
