Yes sir. I had to spend the last 2 years confirming that information for accuracy. Sorry for the delay, but you can take my statement for absolute truth, given my extensive research.

Apparently this is a thing on some college campuses. OSU has had a few smart car tipping incidents.

"It's not that hard to just call them what they want to be called.
You don't have to like it, but that doesn't mean you should be a dick about it."
To the above: should everyone have to ask every person they meet what pronouns and gender they prefer every time they encounter them? You can be non binary, gender fluid, animal kin, whatever makes you happy; I, however, am not obligated to bend over backwards to accommodate you. I would NEVER intentionally be rude or disrespectful but I'm in no way responsible for affirming anyone's ever changing sense of self. It is not oppression or hate to feel like it's just not my responsibility to double check the gender preference of everyone I meet. Want that information to be observed by everyone you meet? Wear a pin with your daily preferred pronouns on it.

Obama could win a third term and he knows it 15 comments

You do, of course, realize that when one term ends there is a continuation of the things set in motion by the previous president right? When Bush took office it didn't completely reset the economic clock. Likewise, Obama simply cannot take credit for the things set in motion by his predecessor. Ending a war is fantastic. Yes. However the crumbling of the middle class really needs top stop being overlooked.
I'm thrilled at the steps the country has taken toward taking race and gender out of the political picture, but good grief, don't buy into one tiny piece of each puzzle and glorify someone who really is not doing good things for this country overall.

Actually I'm in that crappy in between sports that got screwed. It's all well and good to give free phones, Healthcare, food, etc. to the REALLY needy, but I make just enough that I don't qualify for reduced cost Healthcare or ANY other assistance, but not enough to afford the now inflated cost of such things. If you help the vast minority of people at the cost of the rest of your people then you are not doing your job effectively.

Funny, sure. But he hasn't been a particularly useful president.

Well, and what about the people who work 12+ hours a day, come home, cook, clean, do laundry, etc. and still can't sleep? I do a whole lot, but have suffered from insomnia since I was a child. My above comment was kind of sarcastic because it is NOT always as easy as just being physically tired!

My daughter was always pork chop when she was little, and I have no idea why I called her that. :-) I got the name from a tiny, minor character in a book.

They are every bit as delicious as they look, and not terribly difficult if you can handle a pastry bag reasonably well. Definitely well worth the little bit of effort!

Be careful! The last time I questioned how something was written I got a whole lot of flack. It was a good reminder that you must be careful what you say around here.

That's what I have an issue with, right there. I do see what you're saying, but it's far worse to call someone a jerk or a pretentious asshole than to say good grief. Everyone was quick to jump on me for pointing out a mistake, but had no problem immediately resorting to name calling. It's very frustrating to have to debate about whether it's worth it to say anything at all, knowing that someone will almost undoubtedly take issue and start swearing.

I won't! As I said, I'd much rather know than not. I'm also aware that a lot of people on here, and the internet in general, don't speak English as a first language. But the person who posted this usually does write properly most of the time. I guess I just get frustrated when I see people who normally seem to speak/write properly getting sloppy.

I didn't berate anyone. Nor do I think it's pretentious (or being an asshole) to maintain my stance. If I make a spelling or grammar mistake I'd much rather someone point it out than let it slide. Sure, sometimes it's just an oversight but if it's not I'll keep doing it. It's amusing that sometimes it's OK to point out errors as long as you tiptoe around or pretend to be joking.

Good grief. Why do people around here get so uppity? There are TONS of comments left regarding spelling and grammar, but it's only a select few that piss people off. I pointed out that it could have been phrased better, that's all.

I figured it out just fine. It's been years since I diagrammed a sentence, and I get that the bullshit is useless, but neither the comma nor the added "a" are necessary. Take those out and the problem is solved.

But what is a useless, bullshit? Good grief, use proper, recognizable English. Or your native tongue.

A lot of the time doctors won't/can't allow anything that can't be sterilized into the operating room. My guess would be that the parents just didn't think it would go over with the surgeon.
