In literal terms they're equal, emotional pain is only really felt on large scales, we get used to the small things, and that's in comparison with small physical pain, like bruises or wounds. However, the emotional pain we do tend to notice is much larger, but because we're so used to ignoring small emotional pain, it only seems like the big stuff is there...
