Typically, they're classes where the teacher doesn't feel like wasting their time teaching students who don't pay attention. As for the gum, well, people would rather not clean that up.

Eh, I'm fine with my current iPhone. The iPhone 6 would have to be something really special for me to even consider it. And even then, I'm not too keen on spending the extra money on something I don't need.

Not really. There are plenty of young boys who grow up with either one and it doesn't change them. Toys are for all genders unless operated by your genitalia. In that case, they're not for children anyway.
