Or perhaps the coaches and teammates were bullies, just because you're in charge doesn't mean you're unable to bully. Something could have happened that was the last straw.

So many parents claim they want their children to be strong and independent when they grow up, but when their children try to make their own personal decisions they're slapped down. Years later, after being trained into complacency, the same parents are angry at their childrens inability to make their own choices.
