South Carolina here, and everyone I've ever met has had a junk drawer, and has called it just that. So no, I do not think it's only a Midwest thing. Junk drawers are magical places.

Good God, just give the server the extra dollar or less! Having worked as a server for most of my young adulthood, let me just say that in most states, we only get paid two dollars an hour. Which means our paychecks are a whopping $0. We live off of those extra few cents.

My mom has gotten my sister and I Legos every Christmas for my entire childhood and has continued. I am 25 now, my sister is 33, and this year, my mom was diagnosed with a fatal illness right before Christmas. She still had Legos waiting in our stockings for us. I just hope and pray that I will continue to receive those Legos.

Just because they were in a relationship doesn't mean he didn't rape her. I was raped by a man to whom I was engaged. Sex can be used as a weapon in relationships. Not necessarily saying that's the case here, but it does happen. Perhaps they didn't release the messages because they weren't relevant to the case. I'm a lawyer, and I can think of half a dozen instances in which those messages would not be accepted as evidence anyway. Playing devil's advocate here.
